    A grieving girl and a quirky gray gelding...

    

    Jigsaw, Tessa Wellen's beautiful gray horse, died tragically and suddenly in the fall of last year, plunging her into a winter of grief that froze her. Still hurting deeply and fearful of loss, she refuses to contemplate having another horse of her own.

    Months later a new lesson horse arrives named Challenger. With his beautiful coloring, the gray's striking resemblance to Jigsaw is almost too much for Tessa to handle.

   

   What if this is what it takes to live again?

    

    Challenger soon proves he isn't like Jigsaw or even what he was supposed to be.  Tessa has to reckon with more than just her dislike of him, even as he forces her to face her hurt and fear with hard questions about love and grief.
